The price of your web project starts with an estimate, but here is a peek inside the gold-gilded envelope before it arrives..actually it's a white, priority mail package.

Design

Our estimates are based on $150 per page; pages are based on client needs and structural requirements, though we have an 8-page minimum for visible pages. Redesigns are priced the same, though they take more time and effort than starting anew. Pages that require extraordinary formatting will be priced higher. Work that exceeds the contract is priced at $55 per hour.
To keep up the high standards that are making our sites so popular, every project receives a multitude of behind-the-scenes XHTML & XML pages, as well as carefully chosen metadata and other SEO necessities. Additional options available include: Image galleries, Flash banners, E-commerce, WordPress blogs, RSS News Feeds, Event Calendars, Custom Form, Site Search, Printable PDFs, MP3 Player and more.
Most basic small business sites run about 15-20 pages (including those behind the scenes), with about half opting for a monthly maintenance plan.

Any Web Project Needs

Whatever your project size, you will need a domain name and an annual plan with a host server. We can set it up for you or show you how to do it. Such a plan can run around $85 per year. The host we work with provides a free-for-life domain name, and free Whois domain name privacy protection. However we would be happy to consider working with other hosts.
We provide free basic maintenance for life, such as regular link and validation checks. To add, update or replace content, clients book us for this service either per-service, monthly or annually. Our maintenance services are only available to clients whose web sites we have built or redesigned unless special arrangements are made.

Sometimes you have a site and just need a little help. Our hourly maintenance rate for sites we have not built is $75.

Do You Want to Learn Some Code?

For our web clients who are computer-savvy and located in the Greater Bethesda area, we are happy to come tutor you on the ways of simple HTML and XHTML. This will prep you to do your own text updates -- cost efficient for those whose home pages need constant updating. Our training package is $350 and includes 2 1-hour explanatory meetings, and a slew of resources.

How will potential customers find my site?

We do many things behind the scenes, however, if you would like a formal marketing plan, we would be glad to provide one for $175. The best way to be found is for your site to appear on the first page of a Google search for words related to your business. A lot of people have that goal, though, so there is a lot of keyword competition. Typically, it can take six months to a year for a Google spot. But this effort is quite involved. Bethesda Design Web does much in just the building of the site. Our code meets industry standards which search engines favor greatly. But more can be done, and for those who want more optimizing (a better, faster chance at that first page search engine listing!), we offer:

 

1. A one-time intense optimizing effort for $250. This plan includes researching highly specific keywords and metadata, a robots text file, five high-quality directory submissons (Some entry requirements read like a college application.), stats analysis via Google and Yahoo tools and —New! 2. A monthly plan - $45 per month. The SEO effort includes all of the above, as well as ongoing stats analysis, am XML-generated Google-friendly sitemap, and a quality link building campaign. Under this plan, we would also provide writing support for two articles about your industry to be submitted to reputable e-zines, establishing you and your site as an expert resource. Getting to the first page of Google takes this kind of work and ingenuity.

What if I Need Help Writing for my Site?

We're experts! Interesting written content is exactly what will drive the success of your site. And we are particularly effective in writing short and tight, the way the web commands. Our rate for web-writing and copyediting, and subject suggestions for newsletters, blogs, and Web sites is $55 per hour and is worked into the estimate. Do you offer print Promotional Materials?

One effective and cost-efficient way to promote your site in print is via give-a-ways such as postcards. We will be happy to create a design that reflects the spirit of your web design.
